David and Helen Harthfield Foundation is a philanthropic non governmental organization dedicated to reducing inequalities, poverty, illiteracy unemployment and improving lives around the world based on the core belief that every life has equal values. The David Harthfield Foundation is one of the largest endowed foundation in the world with assets of about $21 billion when it was founded in January 2008.David Harthfield, and his wife, Helen, created the foundation. Using the vast wealth he earned from his vast investment in properties and estates, the real estate company he co-founded in 1975, David Harthfield began his organized philanthropic interests in 2000 with the D.W Harthfield Foundation. This foundation was focused on the less privileged and natural disaster victims. Eight years later, precisely in January 2008 the foundation was renamed David and Helen Harthfield Foundation.A major goal of the foundation is to bring hope and help to victims of natural disasters and wars, the less privileged,physically challenged and to people living in poverty all over the world . With these, the foundation has been achieving its goals through the introduction of a package the "Global poverty alleviation initiative grants".The foundation also supply vaccines to the developing world and support ways to stop the transmission of diseases such as Aids, Polio and Tuberculosis.
